We’re back! Yes, it was a long time, and we are really sorry about this! But we’re back now, and we will start the year with an awesome VMUG meeting!
Today we proudly announce our first VMUG meeting for this year! And we’re starting with a bombshell! In January this year, we were contacted by our friends from the Swiss-French VMUG. And thanks to our friends we’re happy to welcome Cormac Hogan from VMware as our special guest for our first VMUG meeting this year!
Also a long-time supporter of our VMUG, a good friend, and a community guru, we also welcome Dennis Zimmer to our first VMUG meeting this year!

The management board of our VMUG discussed today the dates for our 2018 agenda. That was one of many things we want to do better in 2018 and beyond. You should get the information early so you can plan your agenda too. And we look forward to welcome you to our events.
The dates
Mark the following dates in the calendar:
March 8, 2018
Location: tbd (we’re waiting for reservation confirmation)
Topics: Frank Dennemann and Duncan Epping, VMware, talking about VMware vSAN and VMware on AWS
The locations are sought due to the fairly central location and good accessibility of public transport and individual transport in the greater Zurich area. We are always looking for good venues that can accommodate at least 50 people and are equipped with a video projector (optional media systems with microphones and speakers). If you have suggestions, if you know a good location, then you are welcome to send us an email any time.
Topics
Also in the Topics, we will be putting our heads together within the Management Board in order to be able to offer you a diversified and interesting program. If any of you would like to present something, anytime! Are you currently working on an exciting project? Do you want to talk about good and bad times in the project? Do you know an interesting product that can not be withheld from the community? Then get in touch with us and we’ll look at it together. From the community to the community. It is important that it has to do with VMware (after all, we are a VMware User Group).

1st VMware Cloud Summit
With the introduction of the cloud, IT has been revolutionized – but which cloud model is best for you and what technical fundamentals must be fulfilled in order to be able to use cross-platform systems at all? The variety of options often makes it difficult to form an objective opinion about the cloud models that are right for you.
Together with the VMware premier service providers, Swisscom, T-Systems & Axians, VMware will be showing you the latest infrastructure cloud solution, both Swiss and international. Get both technical and economic insights and see how it works and the opportunities that result from it.
Take the A3 motorway to the Horgen exit, follow the signs to Horgen, turn right after a few hundred meters, then follow the signs. Parking in the hotel’s own garage.
Directions by public transportation:
Take the S2 or S8 to Horgen, then take the bus lines 131 or 132 to the Bocken stop.
